2. Scope & legal frameworks
We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO), the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) where applicable, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / revDSG). “Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Summary: This website does not use analytics, advertising cookies, profiling technologies or social media tracking. We only process technical server logs and, where applicable, information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
3. Data we process
a. Server log files
When you visit this site, our hosting provider automatically collects technical information in server log files: IP address (in abbreviated/anonymised form where feasible), date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a stable and secure service). Logs are retained only as long as needed for security and then deleted.
b. Contact by email
If you contact us by email — including via the contact form on this site, which opens your own email client — we process the data you provide (such as your name, email address and message) solely to handle your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (responding to enquiries). We retain this correspondence until your request is resolved, subject to any statutory retention periods.
c. Local storage and technical preferences
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We may store limited technical preferences in your browser’s local storage, such as your selected colour theme and language. These preferences are stored on your device, are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and are not transmitted to us or to third parties for profiling purposes. They are used only to provide the display settings requested by the user. You can clear this storage at any time via your browser settings.
d. Web fonts
Fonts (Inter and JetBrains Mono) are self-hosted on our own infrastructure and served directly from this domain. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third party to load fonts, and no data is transferred abroad for this purpose.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted by an external infrastructure provider acting on our behalf. The provider processes server log data on our instructions as a processor, governed by a data processing agreement where required. Where processing involves a transfer outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland, it is safeguarded by appropriate measures such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. No analytics, advertising or social plugins
We currently use no web-analytics, advertising, profiling or social media tracking technologies, and we embed no third-party content that would set cookies or transmit your data without your interaction. Should we introduce such services in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, obtain your prior consent through a consent banner.
6. Data recipients & transfers
Your data is not sold. It is disclosed only to processors acting on our behalf (e.g. our hosting provider) or where we are legally obliged to do so. Any international transfer takes place only on a valid legal basis.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Swiss FADP you have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16);
- erasure (Art. 17);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- data portability (Art. 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
- withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@cet-e.ch.
8. Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Germany, this is the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) or your competent state authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / EDÖB).
9. Data security
This site is served exclusively over an encrypted TLS/SSL connection (recognisable by “https://” and the padlock icon in your browser) to protect data transmitted between your browser and our server.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our website or legal requirements. The current version always applies and is dated above.
